Here's to the memories! Guess what? Another trip, another visit! Guess Where?
To: YATULE RESORT, Natadola, and to SUVA, FIJI!!
WHEN: September 17th - 24th, 2012
Just wanted to let you know, that a small group of us will be traveling back…. to Fiji, and getting together for the week of 17th September – 24th September, 2012.
This visit is early in the planning stages, but we are a group of 10 thus far!! We will be staying for three/four days at Yatule Resort (spitting distance from the Four Seasons!) and then traveling to Suva for the rest of the days, where the Tanoa Plaza has offered us a good local rate. Definitely on the cards is a visit to our Alma Mater at Waimanu and dear Sister Genevieve!
With the success of our Emerald Jubilee, and all of the stories that were bandied about with: ‘remember when??? Remember how so and so…., Do you remember this one and that one? With all of this chatting going on, Dr. Helen Smith Kearsley Black !! thought that it would be a great idea to put all the ‘I remember whens,’ and personal stories, in to a story book for the generations….(We have another alumnae member who has just published: ‘Remembering Fiji, a Keepsake Collection of Timeless Recipes from home and abroad.’! vitilady@yahoo.com ) Absolutely Fabulous recipe book, with everything in it we can all remember!. So like Betty-Ann, who is keeping the recipes alive, we would like to keep the incredible stories we remember in tact too.
Parts of this visit and trip, will be for the Crabbe sisters, Roneane and Pamela, to celebrate a family reunion they are attending at the Sheraton in Nadi, and for all of us to get together and figure out ways and systems to put this book together, in between visits to Sister G and our school at Waimanu!!

We know it is going to be fun! – in particular as we are starting out with the visit to Yatule, where we can get reacquainted with the sand and the waves, and take those sweet moments to feel the lovely soft breezes, as we gaze at the azure coloured ocean, and listen to the familiar melody of laughter – always spontaneous, with smiles to match.
