Prayers and Novenas for Johan Wahl

Dear Alumnae, Family and Friends,                              From: Valerie Warren

Below is an email from Sylvia Seeto Wahl regarding her dearest husband Johan.
We all know that when we receive these kinds of messages, our hearts pause as we try to reach within to offer sweet words and good wishes to bring comfort and assurance; that tomorrow is another day, solutions are the promise of tomorrow, and courage the available virtue..
We also know that collectively WE can make a difference, and with everyone’s prayers and Novenas, blessings and rosaries, meditations and powerful words of faith, love will prevail, and dear Johan and Sylvie will deal with this great new challenge as they will find best.

Dearest Val,
Hope you are all well.
Very briefly, have some bad news with Johan’s health, he was diagnosed with Barrett’s oesophagus about a year ago and has been monitored as it can lead to cancer and in May/June tumours were found and removed. Since then he has first Halo (US pioneered) treatment to remove Barretts last Friday 9th Sept when a more aggressive type of cancer was found. So he is now being referred to surgeon and chemo/radio therapy Dr to discuss the two options – surgery major, which will remove part of the oesophagus; chemo not recommended by Dr Lovat who performs Halo.

Please pray for Johan.
Much love
Sylvia

LATEST UPDATE September 22nd:
atest is that Johan has had his PET/CT scans and will be seeing Specialists on Friday to determine what stage the cancer is and what options he has.

Ratu Rabici Ganilau R.I.P.

From Valerie Warren -  Sep.19/2011
Dear All,

Below is a message received from Emelita Wendt Wilson regarding the passing of Ratu Rabici Ganilau, the beloved husband of Bernadette Rounds Ganilau.
Please send your prayers, beautiful thoughts, and good wishes to Bernadette and her dear daughter, as they walk through this time of deep and profound sadness.
Bernadette's email is:bganilau@gmail.com

Dear all,

If you haven't already heard, this is a short note to let you know that Lovey's husband, Ratu Rabici Ganilau, died at the weekend after falling into a coma last Friday. He was 52 and had been ill for some time. Sharon went to see Lovey earlier this morning. She was her usual calm and serene self, very accepting, and quietly happy that Rabici had been prepared and ready for his transition. There is to be a service in Suva at the Cathedral this Friday (not sure of the time yet), then Rabici will be taken to the family/ancestral home at Somosomo.

Loloma to you all and I trust you are keeping well?
Emelita
